Burrito is Spanish for Burrito

Surf Taco: A California style burrito joint with a New Jersey twist.  I’ve been to 4 out of the 8 locations and they all greet you with an awesome atmosphere.  You feel as if you just walked off the beach and entered a burrito joint in Southern California.  Reggae music is pumped through the place while surf videos are played through all the televisions.  There’s a relaxed atmosphere in the air and you can go hang out watch some surf videos and enjoy some great food.  As for the food, everything is fresh from the ingredients in daily made salsas in the “not so famous salsa bar” to the meats that are bought in for meals.  The tortilla chips are even made on location in the mornings.  All this combine to help heighten the eating experience.  Surf Taco has a variety of menu items from salads and wraps to traditional burrito dishes and some more creative ones.  For example, one of the more creative items is the Buffalo Soldier.  This is an untraditionally delicious take on the burrito.  The Soldier is breaded chicken covered in a spicy buffalo sauce with blue cheese wrapped together with rice, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo salsa.  To me if you don’t like Mexican food you still have to love this.  The hot sauce isn’t terribly hot but it does have some kick combined with the right amount of tangy flavor to make it enjoyable.  I recommend it if you’re unsure what to get and not ready to jump into the burrito world.  If you want to be a hot shot and think you can eat check out the “Tsunami” burrito.  It is: grilled chicken, rice, beans, jack & cheddar cheeses, lettuce, sour cream, & salsa wrapped in two extra large flour tortillas, served wet topped with guacamole, sour cream & Pico de Gallo salsa and served with chips.  If you can finish that in 15 minutes your picture will be placed on the Tsunami hall of fame!  I’ve never had the stomach to try, literally.
