Buffalo vs. Chicken

Costello’s Pizzeria: Nestled in the Pine Barrens in the small South Jersey town of Smithville we find Costello’s Pizzeria.  Even though Costello’s is a pizzeria we are going to focus on a different item on the menu, “The Stockton Bomb.”  The Bomb is a mammoth sandwich that I heard about while attending Stockton College thanks to my good friend Erik X. Raj.  The sandwich consists of buffalo tails, mozzarella sticks and French fries all doused in a tangy hot sauce, smothered with bleu cheese dressing and crammed into a sub roll.  It is done in a style very similar to that of the Grease Truck sandwiches at Rutgers in New Brunswick, NJ.  All I needed was one bite to fall in love with the concoction.  The blending of crunchy tails and fries along with the melted mozzarella from the sticks made for one serious sandwich.  To me, the best part of the sandwich was the hot sauce.  It had the perfect amount of kick and tang to it which added great flavor that anyone can enjoy.  For a pizzeria that has a buffalo fighting a chicken as it’s logo I should have known they knew how to handle any thing buffalo wing related and they proved it!
