Come on and “rock a fella” ha ha (shoot me in the face)
Rockafellas: This restaurant is in no way affiliated with the Rockafellas that is located in Ortley. This one is actually decent. I was up in Salem learning about all sorts of historical things when I decided to eat here. First and foremost, let’s discuss the service. It takes forever here. It seems as if the staff really just takes their time when it comes to thigns such as seating you and bringing you food and refills. The food, however, was not half bad. I went hear twice during that weekend, so I have tried a few things. The first time I ordered the “Cowboy Steak” which is: “18 oz. bone in, choice, aged rib eye in an espresso and chili rub, grilled to perfection.” The steak was excellent. However, the espresso and chili rub didn’t seem to add too much of a flavor. The next day, I ordered the lobster roll. This tasted like lobster flavored mayo for the most part. It was delivered on a hamburger bun, not a hoagie roll like I was hoping. It would have been a decent lobster roll for, say, New Jersey. However, this was Massachusetts we’re talking about. They’re supposed to have this stuff on lock. I was a little disappointed. The sweet potatoe fries were great though. Their New England clam chowder was quiet tasty. It wasn’t too fishy, nor was it too thin. If you’re in Salem, this might be an ok place to try. I would go early, as a wait in line will just add to the time you’ll be waiting once you get inside.
